What is the theme of the reVISION Awards?
The central question behind reVISION is: "What happens when you change the way you look at things?" We are looking for films that illuminate the power of perspective. The concept is built on the profound truth that when you change the way you see things, the things you see change.
What does "reVISION" mean in the context of the awards?
reVISION inspires us to look with curiosity and wonder. It is a path where the unwanted, discarded, or unvalued meets attention and ingenuity, revealing a world of astonishing potential in unexpected places. We celebrate how a shift in perspective can lead to brilliant creations, remarkable solutions, and extraordinary innovations.
What kind of stories are you looking for?
We are looking for stories that reveal extraordinary potential in surprising places. This can range from discarded materials becoming art, overlooked spaces becoming vibrant communities, scientific accidents becoming discoveries, or personal setbacks becoming unexpected superpowers.
II. Submission Guidelines & Eligibility
Who is eligible to enter the reVISION Awards?
The competition is open to filmmakers **worldwide** and there are **no age restrictions**.
Is there an entry fee?
No, the reVISION Awards are **free to enter** for all filmmakers.
What are the requirements for the submitted film?
We accept short films between **3 to 10 minutes** in length.
What genres or formats do you accept?
We accept **documentary, narrative, or experimental** formats.
Can I submit a film that has been completed and shown previously?
Yes, we accept submissions that are **original work**—whether they are new films or previously completed works.
How do I submit my film?
You will submit your film via a **link** (e.g., to YouTube, Vimeo, or a private streaming service) within our official submission form. **We do not accept file uploads**.
III. Judging, Deadlines, & Awards
What is the submission deadline?
The submission deadline is **June 30, 2026**.
When will winners be announced?
Winners will be announced on **September 1, 2026**.
How will my film be judged?
Films will be judged on **storytelling craft, cinematic quality, and emotional impact**. Bonus consideration will be given for demonstrating Exceptional Ingenuity in the filmmaking process. This includes the creative use of constraints, innovative narrative style and perspective, and resourcefully blending equipment and materials.
What do the winners receive?
The winning film receives a **$1,000 Cash Award** plus **Personalized Mentorship** with a member of the reVISION Panel.
Are finalists recognized?
Yes, finalists receive **official recognition** and their films are featured in the **curated showcase**. Featured films reach communities passionate about sustainability, innovation, possibility, and transformation.
